Check out our various diesel technician job opportunities.

Diesel Technician

Our Diesel Technicians handle routine work such as tire changes and minor electrical and accident repairs. You will perform various tasks, including general shop duties, routine part pick-ups and stocking, inventory management, and tracking repairs. This role will allow you to gain on-the-job experience that will help you learn the trade or the autonomy you need to deepen your expertise, depending on your experience level.

Diesel Service Advisor

As a Diesel Service Advisor, you will liaise between Santa Rita Fleet Repair’s truck drivers and our shop associates. Day-to-day job duties will include answering phone calls, writing service requests, estimating repair times, and performing minor repairs. You will also assist with inventory management, including verifying that all the parts needed for a repair are in stock and submitting parts requests when they’re not.

Trailer Technician

Santa Rita Fleet Repair’s Trailer Technicians specialize in completing repairs on our fleet’s signature orange van trailers. In this role, you’ll diagnose and repair trailer electrical systems and perform routine maintenance and replacements on trailer components, including tires, prop legs, landing gear, and minor accident repairs.

Mobile Diesel Technician

As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will work mainly outside the shop while performing repairs at customer sites, distribution centers, or rail yards. These jobs could include anything from tire changes to accident repairs. You will leverage your industry expertise and the tools in your service truck to complete the work on-site and help our drivers deliver their freight on time.

Senior Diesel Technician

Santa Rita Fleet Repair’s Senior Diesel Technicians are highly skilled technicians who perform all tractor estimations, diagnoses, and corrections while following Schneider’s standard operating procedures. You will be responsible for completing routine rebuilds and replacements, performing technical repairs, making decisions that deliver the best value, and prioritizing safety.

“Santa Rita Fleet Repair is a great place for diesel technicians to work because of the opportunity given to each tech who joins our team. I started working in the express and have since worked in several areas—tractor shop, trade team, service truck—and now I’m back in the trailer shop as a Trailer Technician senior.”

Lead Diesel Technician

If you want to work in a management role, our Lead Diesel Technician position may be the right fit. In this role, you’ll assist in assigning work to technicians and driving team members' success while learning how our company shops operate.

Shop Team Leader

Santa Rita Fleet Repair’s Shop Team Leaders assist with the overall management of Schneider’s company shops by performing managerial and leadership duties. A few of those duties include assigning work to associates, performing work orders and performance audits, managing the parts inventory, and leading the shop in the manager’s absence.

Diesel Shop Manager

Our Diesel Shop Managers use their solid mechanical aptitude and leadership experience to perform various job duties that support a high-performance shop environment. You will become a key player in your team’s success by leading efforts that lower the cost of repairs, increase equipment availability in the shop, and ensure the satisfaction of Schneider’s various service offerings.
